Autonomous human films founder Paul Papadeas is interviewed on North Carolina’s WUNC Public Radio about independent film Yeardley that he produced. The film covers the tragic downfall of flawed suburbanite during the economic downturn. Check it out.

After many years away, a struggling and rebellious Greek American artist living in a metropolis returns to his hometown in North Carolina seeking the help of his affluent and estranged father after falling into trouble with organized crime.  Upon arrival, the artist discovers that his mother has recently passed away. Left without a conduit, he must find a way to quickly rebuild the fractured and historically tumultuous relationship with his devastated father.

Sophia’s Spirit is a feature length film project currently in development to be shot on location in Fayetteville, NC.

This year’s BEST FEATURE winner was YEARDLEY,  a disturbing drama about a married narcissist becoming unhinged during the economic downturn. It was written and directed by Heath C. Michaels, produced by Paul Papadeas and stars Jesse Bernstein, Saskia Grace Holmes, Garrett Geoghegan, Rebecca Holopter, Madison Palasini and Dave Huevel.

This is the sixth festival for Yeardley. Yeardley left its world premiere at the Santa Fe Film Festival 2009 with a BEST PICTURE nomination along an elite list of films such as THE ONLY GOOD INDIAN starring Wes Studi and HANDSOME HARRY starring Steve Buscemi and Aidan Quinn. Yeardley won BEST ACTOR and BEST FEATURE 1st Runner Up at the 5th Annual Myrtle Beach International Film Festival and the PLATINUM REEL AWARD from the 2009 Nevada Film Festival.

Also, Yeardley has recently secured a limited theatrical distribution in the USA.

It was shot on location in Los Angeles, CA and Valencia, CA.

Yeardley recently had its world premiere at the Santa Fe International Film Festival and was nominated for BEST FEATURE. Also, it played at the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival where it won BEST ACTOR and was runner up for BEST FEATURE. It will be showing next year on the week of January 11-16 at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema in Southern California.
